Assisting the preparations for the International Eucharistic Congress by your prayer

Your Prayer Will Make a Difference

Your prayer is an important source of support for the Eucharistic Congress. Each day, in parish Churches and small oratories, in places of pilgrimage such as Knock, Lough Derg, Croagh Patrick & Glendalough, people gather to pray as a community of faith. The elderly and the infirm, praying in their own homes, are joined in that great communion. Others are inspired to lift their hearts to God by the majesty of his creation, as they walk in the "great outdoors."

We invite you all, over the next two years, to join us in asking God for the wisdom to prepare a Congress which responds to the needs of this particular time. Pray that the generosity of Christ's gift of himself in the Eucharist may be reflected in our own openness to growth and our willingness to give of ourselves in service.

Beginning in Autumn 2010, the Congress committee will invite people in parishes throughout the country to participate in a process of reflection on what it means to be a Eucharistic people in the 21st Century.
