Discovery Gospel Choir – Music From The Heavens

The Discovery Gospel Choir, set up over 8 years ago in the Dublin area with a simple mission statement, adopted a motto for the band from Romans 12:17-21, “Discover Beauty in everyone”.

The Discovery Gospel Choir is an exciting part of the future of faith. They have over 30 members who come from different countries, including Zimbabwe, Ireland, South Africa, Nigeria and different countries of Europe, and they belong to different faith groups, including Catholic, Church of Ireland, Lutheran, Pentecostal, and Evangelical churches.

As well as performing at weddings and various festivals, such as the Festival of Life, the Choir has had the experience of performing in front of famous people like Desmond Tutu, Jesse Jackson and Stevie Wonder. After Monday, they can now add performing at the 50th Eucharistic Congress to their list of accolades.

Members of the Choir mentioned how grateful they were for the huge privilege of performing at this historic event. They had a very touching experience when, after singing a song in Zimbabwean, a lady came up to them and said “This is my song”.

A young Catholic member, Ashley, spoke of the need for people to be forthright about their faith, especially in public. He added, “The inclusivity at this Congress is outstanding - there are no closed doors and there is a great sense of openness about the Church today.”

The Discovery Gospel Choir is expanding outside Dublin, and they are always looking for new members. If you are interested, you can visit for more details.
