Die Theologische Fakultät der Katholischen Universität am St. Patrick’s College in Maynooth ist Veranstalter eines internationalen Symposiums von Mittwoch, den 6. Juni bis Samstag, den 9. Juni 2012.
Das Symposium findet in der Woche vor dem 50. Internationalen Eucharistischen Kongress in Dublin (10. - 17. Juni 2012) statt.

Die eucharistische Ekklesiologie der Kommunion 50 Jahre nach dem II. Vatikanischen Konzil
6. bis 9. Juni 2012
Das II. Vatikanische Konzil, dessen Eröffnung sich 2012 zum 50. Mal jährt, hat die Bedeutung der Ekklesiologie der Kommunion stark hervorgehoben. Dieses theologische Symposium untersucht den status questionis 50 Jahre danach. Beiträge von Experten der verschiedenen theologischen Disziplinen (Bibelkunde, Systematik, Moraltheologie, Liturgie, Pastoraltheologie, Missionswissenschaft und Ökumene) erkunden die Frage wie es heute um die Ekklesiologie der Kommunion steht.
Das Symposium besteht aus Plenarsitzungen, Seminaren und Liturgien. Es wendet sich an Teilnehmer mit einem abgeschlossenen Studium der Theologie oder einer vergleichbaren Ausbildung.
Es werden bedeutende Orte in Irland besucht.
Der Morgen des ersten Tages ist biblischen, systematischen und Erkundungen gewidmet. Nachmittags findet eine Seminarserie mit spezifischen Themen statt: Kommunion und das Wort; Kommunion und soziale Gerechtigkeit; Wirtschaft; Politik; Kommunion und Kunst/ Architektur/ Musik; Mission/ Evangelisation; Kommunion und Ökologie; die Kommunion in der irischen Tradition. Frieden/ Gewalt/ Versöhnung/ Heilung der Erinnerung. Der Tag wird viele Perspektiven und Wege für theologische Reflexion eröffnen.
Der zweite Tag ist der Ökumene gewidmet. Ausgewiesene Experten in diesem Gebiet werden Vorträge halten, gefolgt von moderierten Diskussionen der Teilnehmer und Referenten.
Abends findet ein festliches Abendessen im Pugin Saal in Maynooth statt.
Der dritte Tag führt die verschiedenen Themen des Symposiums zusammen und ist missions- und pastoralthemen gewidmet. Die Missionsexperten Fr. Michael McCabe, SMA und Kardinal Oscar Andrés Rodriguez Maradiaga werden ein Impulsreferat halten. Im Anschluss wird ein Dialog über das Wesen der missionarischen Kommunion angesichts der Herausforderungen der neuen Evangelisation geführt.
Es werden Übersetzungen angeboten.

Erzbischof Diarmuid Martin
Erzbischof Martin ist der Erzbischof von Dublin. Zuvor war er Apostolischer Nuntius und dauerhafter Beobachter des Heiligen Stuhls bei den Vereinten Nationen (UN) in Genf. Er war Sekretär des Päpstlichen Rates für Gerechtigkeit und Frieden. Er ist Mitglied des Rats des Generalsekretärs der Bischofssynode und des Päpstlichen Rates für soziale Kommunikation. Er ist der Co-Moderator der gemeinsamen Arbeitsgruppe für die Beziehungen zwischen der Römisch-Katholischen Kirche und des Weltkirchenrates.
Kardinal Kurt Koch
Kardinal Koch ist der Leiter des Päpstlichen Rates für die Förderung der Einheit der Christen. Zuvor war er Professor für Theologie an der Universität in Luzern, Schweiz. Er wurde 1995 zum Bischof von Basel ernannt. 2010 wurde er Vorsitzender des Päpstlichen Rates zur Förderung der Einheit der Christen. Im November 2010 wurde er zum Kardinal ernannt.
Professor Piero Coda
Professor Coda ist Präsident des Sophia Universitätsinstituts in Loppiano, Florenz. Er ist Präsident der italienischen Theologenvereinigung. Zuvor war er Professor der Fundamentaltheologie an der Päpstlichen Lateranuniversität in Rom und Prälatssekretär der Päpstlichen Akademie für Theologie. Zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen, zuletzt Dalla Trinità – L'avvento di Dio tra storia e profezia (Rom, 2011).
Professor Geoffrey Wainwright
Professor Wainwright is ein britischer Methodistischer Theologe bekannt für seine ökumenischen Schriften und sein Engagement in offiziellen Dialogen. Die Katholische Universität von Amerika zeichnete ihn 2005 mit der Johannes Quasten Medaille für “Exzellenz in theologischer Lehre” aus.
Professor Robert Enright
Professor Enright is Professor für Pädagogische Psychologie an der Universität von Wisconsin-Madision. Er ist ein Pionier auf dem Gebiet der wissenschaftlichen Erforschung von Versöhnung, ein Gebiet, welches mittlerweile über 1000 Forscher weltweit umfasst. Er unterrichtet Kurse zum Thema Moralentwicklung mit Betonung auf der Psychologie der Versöhnung. Er ist ein gefragter Referent zum Thema moralische Entwicklung der Versöhnung. Das Time Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, die Chicago Tribune und ABC’s 20/20 haben über seine Arbeit berichtet.
Fr. Michael McCabe, SMA
Fr. Michael McCabe is a member of the Irish Province of the SMA and worked as a missionary in Zambia and Liberia. In 1981 he was awarded a Doctorate in Theology by the Pontifical Gregorian University for a thesis on Religion and Politics in the Thought of Reinhold Niebuhr. He taught at St Paul’s College-Seminary in Liberia from 1981-1989 and at the Kimmage Mission Institute, Dublin from 1996-2001 where he was President from 1999- 2000. He served as a member of the SMA General Council and was President of the Executive Committee of the Africa/Europe Faith and Justice Network (AEFJN) from 2002-2004. He has written in the areas of Mission Theology, Inculturation, Interreligious-Dialogue and JPIC commitment. Father McCabe is currently Head of the Mission Studies Department of the School of Theology at Tangaza College, Nairobi in Kenya.
Sister Teresa Okure, SHCJ
Sister Teresa Okure is Professor of New Testament and Gender Hermeneutics at the Catholic Institute of West Africa, Nigeria. Sister Okure is Head of the Department of Biblical Studies and was formerly Dean of the Faculty of Theology. She received her PhD from Fordham University, New York.
Cardinal Marc Ouellet
On 30 June 30 2010 Pope Benedict XVI appointed Quebec’s Cardinal Marc Ouellet prefect of the Congregation for Bishops and president of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America. Cardinal Ouellet was previously Archbishop of Quebec City and primate of Canada.
Rev Brendan Purcell
Dr Brendan Purcell is a former lecturer in philosophy at University College Dublin (UCD). He was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Dublin in 1967. He received his STL from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, and his PhD from UCD. Dr Purcell's work is published widely.
Professor Brian Johnstone
Professor Johnstone ist Professor der Moraltheologie/ Ethik an der Katholischen Universität in Amerika. Seine Spezialgebiete sind die Bioethik, Moraltheologie und die Philosophie der Gabe. Die Philosophie der Gabe ist ein Projekt welches das ethische und philosophische Konzept des Gebens einer Gabe in ein neues System der Moraltheologie integriert, indem es die Gabe von Jesus seiner Selbst am Kreuz, vollendet in der Auferstehung, als die ultimative und absolut freiwillige „Gabe“ definiert.
Kardinal Oscar Andrés Maradiaga, S.D.B.
Kardinal Maradiaga ist Erzbischof von Tegucigalpa (Honduras). Er war Professor der Moraltheologie und Ekklesiologie am Salesianischen Theologischen Institut von Guatemala und später auch Rektor des Institutes. Er ist Präsident der Bischofskonferenz von Honduras und von Caritas Internationalis. Er wurde 2001 zum Kardinal ernannt. Er ist ein Mitglied der Kongregation des Klerus. Er ist Mitglied der Päpstlichen Räte: für Gerechtigkeit und Frieden, sowie für Soziale Kommunikation. Er ist außerdem Mitglied der Päpstlichen Kommission für Südamerika; des XII. Allgemeinen Rates des Generalsekretariats der Bischofssynode, sowie des speziellen Konzils für Amerika des Generalsekretariats der Bischofssynode.
Professor Dr. Martin Stuflesser
Professor Stuflesser ist Priester der Diozöse Mainz und Professor für Liturgiewissenschaften an der Julius-Maximilians-Universität in Würzburg. Promotion und Habilitation an der Universität von Münster. Sekretär der internationalen, ökumenischen Vereinigung "Societas Liturgica“ seit 2003.

Professor Joris Geldhof
Professor Geldhof is professor of liturgical studies and sacramental theology at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. In 2005 he completed a PhD on the provocative nature of Christian revelation. He has written and edited several books in Dutch and English. Professor Geldhof is chair of the Liturgical Institute in Leuven. He is Editor-in-chief of the bilingual journal Questions Liturgiques/Studies in Liturgy. The major focuses of his research and teaching are: theology of the Eucharist; Sacraments and sacramentality; sources and methods of liturgical theology; theology and Romanticism.
Dr Theodore Mascarenhas
Dr Theodore Mascarenhas is in charge of the departments of Asia, Africa and Oceania in the Pontifical Council for Culture. He is a professor at the Gregorian University and Pontifical St Thomas University in Rome and the Pilar Theological College in Pilar, Goa.
