Why and how can you help?
All large celebrations require a great deal of materials and preparation. The 50th International Eucharistic Congress in 2012 an event expected to be attended by 100,000 is no exception. There are many challenges involved, but with your help we hope to:
To welcome all participants
Everything from transforming the RDS and Croke Park; to printing posters and welcome signs for pilgrims to be posted all around the city.
To take care of the protagonist of this great celebration of faith
The centre of Christian Life is the Holy Mass, where we encounter Christ. Many sacramental objects and vestments are needed to celebrate such a large Mass and it is part of our Christian tradition to celebrate divine worship the best way possible, even if it calls for us to save and make sacrifices. This great event has strong evangelical roots and is to be celebrated in the spirit of the woman of Bethany who anointed the Lord with a very valuable perfume.
To ensure that IEC2012 is truly global
Your contribution can help make the 50th International Eucharistic Congress in 2012 truly global by enabling people from all over the world to participate, including those from countries with fewer financial resources. Your donation will be transferred to the IEC2012 Solidarity Fund, which provides funding for those who wish to attend the 50th International Eucharistic Congress in 2012 but do not have the financial means to do so.
To make sure that disabilities do not impede participation
A special committee and team of volunteers have been created to assist participants with disabilities. We plan to address their unique needs by providing adapted transportation as well as translation and interpretation services.
To support volunteers, the backbone of the organisation
More than 3,000 volunteers are needed to help make IEC2012 run smoothly. Your donation will allow us to provide them with meals, transportation, and uniforms for the duration of the event.
To contribute to the Festival
During IEC2012 we will host not only religious celebrations, but cultural activities as well. The Festival will include a wide variety of activities: music and dance; theatre; art exhibits; demonstrations of the Church’s social work on the five continents; biographical itineraries of saints and missionaries; historic tours; film and audiovisual presentations; and other activities that address current issues from a Christian perspective.
Thank you for supporting the 50th International Eucharistic Congress 2012. We need the help of everyone so that the 50th International Eucharistic Congress 2012 will be a success.
