| Title of event | Spirituality in the Writings of Patrick Kavanagh. Panel of Speakers from AISGA (All Ireland Spiritual Guidance Association) |
| Description of event |
Workshop This workshop examines the poetry of the Irish poet, Patrick Kavanagh whose work detects the thumb-print of God on the simplest aspects of creation. His sacramental imagination encaptures hints of the eternal in the green meadows, in ploughed fields and in canal waters. Despite his unorthodox outward behaviour, an intense personal vision offers a gospel that celebrates the miracles of everyday found in the commonplaces of life. Speakers will include: Rev Dr Jack Finnegan SDB, Sr Eibhlis NicUaithneas, Mr Greg Heylin, Fr Paddy Carberry SJ and Ms Carmel Boyle. The session will be chaired by Sister Una Agnew SSL. |
