Bishop Joseph Perry was ordained a priest in 1975 for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in the United States of America.
In 1998 he was ordained an auxiliary Bishop in the Archdiocese of Chicago, where he now resides. He is also adjunct professor of Canon Law at St Mary of the Lake Seminary, Mundelein, Illinois.
