Croke Park Stadium
Croke Park is the principal stadium and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Ireland's biggest sporting organisation. The stadium has capacity for over 80,000 people. Croke Park is in the heart of Dublin, approximately 20 minutes' walk from O'Connell Street. Major international acts have performed concerts in "Croker", as it is often called by Dubliners. Croke Park hosted the opening and closing ceremonies for the Special Olympics in 2003.
Location and Parking
Croke Park is located in north Dublin between Drumcondra and Ballybough and is a 20 minute walk from O'Connell Street.
Croke Park Stadium is situated in a residential area that has limited parking. Local residents have the right to expect priority on this parking. Pilgrims are encouraged to use public transport options - Bus, Rail, DART and LUAS - which all bring you to within walking distance of the stadium.
Public transport access to Croke Park
Croke Park is well served by public transport. Bus, Rail, DART and LUAS transport options can all bring you within walking distance of the stadium. Dublin Bus offers a high-frequency, accessible and easy to use service from all over Dublin. While a number of services bring you quite close to Croke Park, many others will get you to the city centre from where the stadium is approximately a 15 minute walk. The DART and LUAS networks provide excellent services from many different parts of Dublin. In most cases parking is available at the various stations along the route. Iarnród Éireann provides convenient travel services for anyone travelling to Croke Park from rail connected locations around the country. In addition to scheduled services, special additional trains are provided on event days. Extra local services are operated to and from Maynooth station on event days. Accessibility
Croke Park has excellent facilities and can accommodate pilgrims with access needs. For the Final Mass and closing ceremony on 17th June, there will be dedicated seating for pilgrims with special needs and wheelchair access. Special needs seats will be allocated to pilgrims in accordance with information received at time of booking.
•All seats have access to toilet and snack bar facilities.
•Stewards will direct spectators to nearby lifts as appropriate.
Catering
There will be catering outlets open at Croke Park where pilgrims can buy snacks and refreshments.
