Statio Orbis is the Liturgy on the final day of the 50th International Eucharistic Congress that will take place on Sunday 17th June 2012 in Croke Park, Dublin. The Mass will be celebrated by the Papal Legate. It is a time of pause (Statio) and come to terms with what it means to celebrate, receive and live the Eucharist. RTÉ, Salt and Light Television and EWTN will broadcast the Mass from Croke Park on television and online. |
Updated coach parking information for pilgrims attending Statio Orbis on Sunday 17th June
There is no coach parking at Croke Park Stadium. On the advice of the Gardaí, IEC2012 arranged a drop off/parking/collection permit system for pilgrims attending Statio Orbis. Permits were issued to 250 coaches who registered for coach parking on or before 31st May 2012.
For coaches which did not receive a parking permit, we advise pilgrims to arrange with their drivers to drop off and collect pilgrim groups from public transport points at the city limits.

Croke Park Stadium

Croke Park is the principal stadium and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Ireland's biggest sporting organisation. The stadium has capacity for over 80,000 people. Croke Park is in the heart of Dublin, approximately 20 minutes' walk from O'Connell Street. Major international acts have performed concerts in "Croker", as it is often called by Dubliners. Croke Park hosted the opening and closing ceremonies for the Special Olympics in 2003.
Location
Croke Park is located in north Dublin between Drumcondra and Ballybough and is a 20 minute walk from O'Connell Street.
Parking
Croke Park Stadium is situated in a residential area that has limited parking. Local residents have the right to expect priority on this parking. Pilgrims are encouraged to use public transport - Bus, Rail, DART and LUAS - which all bring you to within walking distance of the stadium.

Dublin Bus offers a high-frequency, accessible and easy to use service from all over Dublin. While a number of services bring you quite close to Croke Park, many others will get you to the city centre from where the stadium is approximately a 15 minute walk. The DART and LUAS networks provide excellent services from many different parts of Dublin. In most cases parking is available at the various stations along the route. Iarnród Éireann provides convenient travel services for anyone travelling to Croke Park from rail connected locations around the country. In addition to scheduled services, special additional trains are provided on event days. Extra local services are operated to and from Maynooth station on event days. Accessibility
Croke Park has excellent facilities and can accommodate pilgrims with access needs. For the Final Mass and closing ceremony on 17th June, there will be dedicated seating for pilgrims with special needs and wheelchair access. Special needs seats will be allocated to pilgrims in accordance with information received at time of booking.
•All seats have access to toilet and snack bar facilities.
•Stewards will direct spectators to nearby lifts as appropriate.
Catering
There will be catering outlets open at Croke Park where pilgrims can buy snacks and refreshments.

| Croke Park does not provide left luggage facilities for pilgrims. Pilgrims attending Statio Orbis in Croke Park who vacate their hotel accommodation on Sunday 17th June should make arrangements for left luggage at their hotel |
